Voice Symbol™ software is an easy way to create communication boards and books, but the difference between a Uni-tech board and one created with other software is this: Voice Symbol software allows you to print sound on to the page as well as text and symbols.
Simply choose a board template, drop symbols onto the cells, modify the default sounds if you wish (you can change the voice using the sound library, your own text-to-speech software or by recording a word, add a second language, or import music and other sounds) and print - it's very simple!
With Voice Symbol, your 'no-tech' communication board instantly becomes a Uni-Tech speech generating device! When the V Pen is placed on the symbols, they speak out their vocabulary. If a number of symbols have been selected to create a sentence, then whole sentence can be read back as a single unit by selecting the SPEAK function. As the cells are not simply limited to vocabulary, but can store any sound file, each location could play a favourite piece of music. Thus, the symbol overlay could become a jukebox!
Voice Symbol allows you to create up to 100 memory cells with each V Pen - when you have printed your paper-based communication board you can add words, messages, music and any other sound of your choosing.
You don't even need to install the software, as it runs directly from the USB drive! A single user-license installable version is also available.

Voices - choose your voice or language!
Around 45,000 English words, with a male and female pre-recorded voice, are stored in both Voice Symbol and the V Pen. But the sounds you can include in your board are many:

Cereproc Text-To-Speech UK English male and female voices are now embedded in Voice Symbol, allowing you to add natural sounding words and phrases to your communication pages

Other TTS voices, e.g. Acapela (UK English), Cepstral (UK English), Ivona (English and Welsh), Cereproc (Scottish), Microsoft (UK English) and others, may be purchased separately
