The V Pen Learning Support Pack provides powerful support for children and adults with learning difficulties and for literacy development.
Teachers will find this an amazing resource - imagine being able to touch a piece of paper and listen to music, words or other sounds - your worksheets and classroom resources will never be the same again!
You can create sound-enabled teaching resources very easily using Voice Ink software - then simply touch words or pictures with the V Pen to 'read' out loud each word, sentence, parapraph or even the whole page; or play music and other sounds just by touching the words or pictures printed on the paper.
Voice Ink Software: bring your teaching resources to life - make them talk!
Take any Microsoft Word document, import it into VoiceInk (it is really easy to do) and print! The V Pen will then be able to read out loud the printed words and sentences simply by touching the word with the tip of the Pen. You can set it to read each word, a whole sentence, paragraph or page, once printed. You can also store messages and other sounds in pictures. Touch the picture with the tip of the V Pen to speak words or play sounds.
If there are words that VoiceInk knows are not stored in the V-Pen’s memory (which already contains over 45,000 words) it will automatically generate the necessary speech files and let you know that ‘synchronization’ is required. Simply connect the V-Pen to the computer via the USB cable and let VoiceInk do the rest. It's very simple to do, but if your document uses everyday English, it may not be necessary to synchronize at all.
Please note: Voice Ink software is only compatible with Windows 7

Voices
The default voice in Voice Ink is the approx. 45,000 English words that have been recorded with a male and female voice, but you can also use text-to-speech synthesised voices where your document contains a word that is not in the 'default' sound library. Most computers will include Microsoft TTS voices and you may have some others, but you can also purchase additional voices separately, for example Acapela or Cepstral TTS. Details are included in our support pages advising where you can buy these voices.
