Goldfinger is an alternative version of the Voice Pen™. Goldfinger has the same capability as the V Pen, but the user does not to be able to hold the V Pen when selecting symbols, text, or images from a communication board or book. A lightweight sensor unit straps neatly to a finger, hand, head stick (or other) and sends a signal to the receiver which speaks the message. Just point, touch and talk!

Goldfinger comes complete with:

1.    Goldfinger sensor: this attaches to a finger or a hand or a head stick;

2.    Finger attachment strap: to attach the sensor to a finger or a head stick

3.    Hand attachment strap: to attach the sensor to a hand

4.    Wrist strap: supports the wrist and keeps the cable secure and out of the way.

5.    Arm strap: the arm strap has a pocket for the pen and loose cabling.

6.    Cable: it is not possible to make the sensor wireless as it requires too much power to operate. The cable supplies the power and transmits the signals. The cable is of sufficient length to extend beyond the body to position the receiver unit in a wheelchair bag for example.

7.    Receiver Unit. The unit houses the batteries (2 AAA) as well as the speakers. It is possible to plug external speakers in the receiver to boost the volume for very noisy environments.

As the receiver unit is not held in the hand, an external speaker can be attached to amplify the sound if necessary.

What is Goldfinger?

Imagine that you were able to point to paper symbols with the tip of your finger and the symbol name was spoken out loud. Goldfinger can do that! Attach the unit to a suitable finger with the straps provided and point. That is all you really need to know!

The Goldfinger is hand-made in Taiwan. It is powered by 2 AAA batteries (rechargeable are acceptable) housed within the receiver unit. The sensor is extremely light weight, weighing in at just a few grams.

Who is it for?

Goldfinger can be used by anyone who requires the use of the Core Vocabulary boards or items produced using Voice Symbol or Voice Ink for communication and or learning. It is aimed at those people who cannot hold and manipulate the present V-Pen system. However, it will not be the ‘answer’ for everyone’s needs. Goldfinger requires that the User is able to point to a selected cell on an overlay, requiring the ability to move an arm or, in the case of a head stick, neck and head
